I then went to customize the activity to see if there was something I could change to get the functionality I wanted and that's when I noticed it: in the table showing the activity startup commands, the only thing being listed as being turned on was the avr (the flirc was nowhere to be seen). Upon completing the creation of the activity, I tested it out and it didn't work. I selected the flirc and my avr as the two devices to be used in this activity and instructed the myharmony app which input I wanted the receiver set to. After setting up my remote with flirc for use with xbmc, and even getting so far as to configure fully functioning buttons for putting my htpc to sleep and wake it, I then went to create the activity to turn everything on in order. While trying to set this up, I noticed an odd issue. For that reason, I purchased a Harmony 650 with the intention of using its activities to make powering everything up in the right order as simple as possible (especially for my girlfriend). If I turn the avr on before the htpc, then my screen will basically flicker between on and standby every 5-10 seconds. Everything works, but only if I turn it all on in a certain order (htpc first, then avr). The biggest motivation for me in purchasing these products was that I have an older tv that has some HDMI handshake issues with my AVR. I recently purchased a Flirc and a Harmony 650 for use with an HTPC running XBMC. I have run into an issue that I thought should be brought to your attention. More than anything I'm sure the problem lies with the myharmony app, but I'm hoping you find this worth reading and can come up with a solution. This is kind of a feature request/bug report of sorts. Ideally, FLIRC should NOT be sending ANY keypress to the HTPC while the HTPC is in suspend mode except for the "Wake" keypress when it is received by IR.Just wanted to say thanks for a great product. Wondering if anyone ran into this issue and was able to solve it. It seems like FLIRC is catching infrared events that the Harmony hub is sending to the TV or the Receiver, and then sending some keypress to the HTPC, and the HTPC is waking up on any keyboard keypress. Eventually, Kodi's idle timer will suspend it again. Here's the problem: when I turn OFF Activity 2 "Netflix", the HTPC turns ON for some reason. It also works fine, turning on and off just works. This activity does NOT include FLIRC in it it only controls the TV and the Receiver. This setup works fine: HTPC suspends and wakes perfectly.Īctivity 2 is "Netflix", launching my smartTV's Netflix client. The FLIRC device in Harmony is setup to "Turn off when not in use" I did this because I use some custom script that gets triggered by F12 and check if it's OK to suspend, and later trigger suspend. For power off, I used the programming utility to map to the "F12" key. In Harmony > Setup > Devices > FLIRC > power settings, I use "Use two different buttons", and using FLIRC's programming utility, I mapped "AspectRatio" to the "wake" event. Overall, it works great but there is one annoyance thought that I could not work around after I added more than one "Activity" to the Harmony Remote. I use it to control the HTPC (Kodi), the Smart TV and my Receiver. The remote is a Harmony Hub with the simple RF remote (they call it Harmony Companion these days). The FLIRC SE is only connected to USB - without the connection to the Power Supply, as I only need it to wake the HTPC from "suspend to RAM" (S3) state, I don't need it to wake the HTPC from S5. This build has been working great for a year now. I"m using FLIRC SE, with a linux-based Kodi HTPC build (mini ITX fanless etc).
